You are responsible for arranging off road insurance through your own insurance company. Our insurance only covers us teaching in our own cars.
When you purchase a 1 day permit you can use the Aerodrome from 10am to 5pm. You can either bring pupils with you or they can meet you at the Aerodrome. You can then do 2 hour sessions or a full day for the same permit price. We charge our off road pupils £46.00 per hour. It is up to you to set your charge so you can cover the cost of the permit.
There are toilets on site and a cafe under the control tower which you and your pupils can use.
Please note...... Turweston Aerodrome was a WW2 airfield with a mixture of tarmac and concrete roads. It is suitable for learners looking to get BASIC CONTROL AT LOW SPEEDS . 3rd/4th is possible on the smooth tarmac section but on the concrete sections we advise 1st/2nd gear. Please drive the area before you allow a learner to drive so you know the layout. Please read through this page before buying a permit.
When you are supervising a learner driver, you are responsible for your own insurance and are liable for any damage to private property at the Aerodrome. If you enter without insurance you do so at your own risk. L-Plates should be displayed.
Staff at the Aerodrome may ask to see your permit. You may be asked to leave if you do not have a permit , or they believe you are driving in a unsafe manner.
These requirements are to protect other vehicles, staff and property on the site.
